Beating the heat

Due to some record breaking heat in Seattle (and the first time we've been over 75 degrees all year), mommy has been coming up with various ways to keep me cool. Since daycare isn't air conditioned I spend much of my day playing in water, which is one of my all time favorite activities. Give me a pool, bathtub, sink, or even a container filled with water and I can entertain myself for hours. In the evening, Mommy has been taking me to various water fountains around town. Truthfully, she took me to one in the town square on Thursday evening, and then I've asked to go back every day.

Ahhhh, pure bliss!

Yes, that's a water spout under my booty.

And yes, now I'm sitting on it. Curiosity got the best of me!

Sunday was overcast and cooler, but that didn't stop Shelby and I from running around Kent. Who needs a street fair when there's a water park?

Fun on the Fourth

Mommy is super behind in posting, and has quite a few posts to catch up on, but here is the most recent event, last weekend. Happy birthday USA!
Of course, in true Seattle fashion, the weather was less than ideal. I spent the entire parade snuggled up inside of Grandpa's jacket. The fire engines weren't my favorite...

Then we headed to Three Tree Point in Burien for the block party/fireworks with family friends.

Mommy's yummy red velvet cupcakes:

Don't Shelby and I look adorable in our patriotic outfits? Too bad we had to accessorize with tights and layers!

My very first sparkler! Mommy was shocked that I took it, I'm usually such a scaredy cat.

And then it was time for my first fireworks show (that I've been awake for, at least).

Ooooooooooh

Ahhhhhhhhhh

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!

Welcome Tatum Marie!

We're so thrilled to meet you!
(And your mommy is very happy that you decided to showup a week and a half early)
Born at 10:17, on Monday, May 17th, after a very quick labor.

Shelby is thrilled to be a big sister!

Paige tries to figure out how to get those doll's eyes open.

Hooray for little girls! And hooray for them deciding on a name finally, though baby NoName had a nice ring to it...

Happy birthday Aunt Charan!

Or Aunt Taran, which is what Paige calls her...
Charan collects s'mores, so I used that as an excuse to make a s'mores cake. Unfortunately, I need some better cake stabilizers. This guy had a bit of a lean to him. Still yummy though!

(and no, I didn't actually get any pictures of Charan with the cake. But since she's 9 months pregnant, she tends to avoid the camera so she may be thankful for that. Next week I should have pictures of the new family addition!)

Froggy-licious!

Another excuse to party! My sister Charan is due on 5/27 and it was time to celebrate! They're not finding out the sex of the baby, so it was a gender nuetral frog themed shower. And boy did we go overboard!

Frog cookies, frog cake balls, and even green candy.

And of course any excuse for me to make a cute cake...
Shelby is completely excited to be a big sister, and helps out every way possible. Including opening presents. I'm not sure Charan opened any of them.

Too cute!

In fact, all the little girls helped out, even diapers are fun when you get to unwrap them!

Hope you have an easy (and soon) delivery Charan! We're so excited to meet the new peanut!

1997-2010

We'll miss you buddy. We had to put Norman down earlier this month, due to a fight with cancer. Definitely one of the toughest decisions we've ever had to make. Paige misses her best friend and the house seems empty, but we're thankful for the time that we had with him.
2003, the day I brought him home

2005, helping us celebrate our wedding2007, napping with Paige when she was just one month old

And kisses bye

Hoppity Easter weekend

I had quite the fun-filled Easter weekend! Started it out Saturday with a trip to the tulip fields north of Seattle, with mom, grandma, Auntie Charan, and cousin Shelby. Auntie Charan made me an adorable Easter dress to match Shelby's, only it was so cold that Shelby ended up not wearing hers. Here I am getting ready for the day.
Just beautiful!

BRRRR! We lucked out with no rain, but plenty of wind and very chilly!

Smelling the flowers

Grandma leading us girls through the mud. The puddles were probably our favorite part of the trip. Who cares about flowers when you can splash around? And yes, mommy is still trying to get my dress (and especially tights) clean!

See the candy the Easter bunny left for me!? Easter sure is fun, but it would have been better had mommy let me eat chocolate for breakfast!

I had my first trip to church too! We tried to surprise cousin Laura and her husband Moises by attending their church, but they weren't able to make the morning service. Oh well, I still enjoyed hearing Daddy sing the various hymns to me! And we did get to see Laura and Moises for lunch!
