Training wheels

Daddy has decided it's time for me to start riding a bike. Could it have anything to do with the fact that I get super excited anytime I see someone on a bicycle? I just love pointing them out.

We found a super fun bike for me to start on, one that will last me until I'm 6 or so, to the tune of $175. Yikes! But due to Daddy's skills on Craigslist, he scored me one for $20. After outfitting it with new tires, training wheels, and, of course, sparkling streamers, it was perfect for me!
It's even purple and pink!
I may look like an expert, but I have a ways to go.

Isn't my helmet great? What size do you think it is?
Toddler, you guess? Nope.
Child? Not even.
Youth. Yep, youth. Gotta keep that giant brain protected!
Hills and bumps are so much fun!
Daddy bought a bike too, and they're on the lookout for one for mommy, though it's going to be a while before we can ride as a family. That pedaling while steering thing is tough!
Happy trails!

Beating the heat

Due to some record breaking heat in Seattle (and the first time we've been over 75 degrees all year), mommy has been coming up with various ways to keep me cool. Since daycare isn't air conditioned I spend much of my day playing in water, which is one of my all time favorite activities. Give me a pool, bathtub, sink, or even a container filled with water and I can entertain myself for hours. In the evening, Mommy has been taking me to various water fountains around town. Truthfully, she took me to one in the town square on Thursday evening, and then I've asked to go back every day.

Ahhhh, pure bliss!

Yes, that's a water spout under my booty.

And yes, now I'm sitting on it. Curiosity got the best of me!

Sunday was overcast and cooler, but that didn't stop Shelby and I from running around Kent. Who needs a street fair when there's a water park?

Fun on the Fourth

Mommy is super behind in posting, and has quite a few posts to catch up on, but here is the most recent event, last weekend. Happy birthday USA!
Of course, in true Seattle fashion, the weather was less than ideal. I spent the entire parade snuggled up inside of Grandpa's jacket. The fire engines weren't my favorite...

Then we headed to Three Tree Point in Burien for the block party/fireworks with family friends.

Mommy's yummy red velvet cupcakes:

Don't Shelby and I look adorable in our patriotic outfits? Too bad we had to accessorize with tights and layers!

My very first sparkler! Mommy was shocked that I took it, I'm usually such a scaredy cat.

And then it was time for my first fireworks show (that I've been awake for, at least).

Ooooooooooh

Ahhhhhhhhhh

Hope everyone had a great long weekend!
